Merry Christmas and A Happiiieeeeee New Year 2013 :)

As I said earlier, it's Better Late than Never. So, Merry Christmas to everyone. I've always loved Christmas, especially the decorations which people do around their house: the stars, the Christmas tree, the snowy look, the gifts etc. After watching the movie Rise of the Guardians, Christmas has become still more special. To people who believe that there's still a child that dwells inside them, its definitely a great movie to watch!

It's a new day and a new beginning! Happy New year, 2013 :)

2012 has taught me many things. Especially December 2012: The Best month in my whole life. I spent most of the time in travelling from home to my work place, where I made new friends, who showed me how to live life to the fullest. After a long time, I was so happy without much to care about and I would happily say that I had the 'Time of my life' :) Not just that, 2012 did show me how it'll be, to have new friends who'll do anything for you and to lose some of your loved ones whom you never wanted to miss in your life.

What's past is past! The important lesson learnt from 2012 is that, to live life to the fullest, for you'll never get today, tomorrow!

Reminds me of this song. Enjoy! Happy New year again :)

Swing..

It always feels great to sit on a swing and feel the air while we go back and forth. It reminds me of some of the cherished memories from my school days where I would go to the play ground with my friends to have a competition on who could reach higher on a swing.

Childhood was fun.. Isn't it? Those are carefree, happy days which we will always treasure! :)

Long time, no see!

It's been a really long time since I even typed my blog name on my browser. And today, am happy to see that there are 9 followers and 1660 views (Well, its always happy to know that someone atleast views your blog, when you have been idle for 2 months!)  :-).

So here I am, after two long months! A lot happened in these 60 days. I started working... which is actually the only thing that happened. But I feel like its 'A Lot!'. *Uhh!* Anyway, I don't wanna talk about work. It's a different experience altogether.

Other than that, there were some interesting incidents that happened in these days. Some masala and seasonings may be ;-). After which, I finally decided to sketch something and I did!

The girl here in this sketch, is standing in a lonely road, on a rainy day with an umbrella, waiting for some miracle to happen in her life: Just like me :-)

Girl in Rain..

P.S.: People who wonder if the drawing is incomplete, you're wrong! Am giving you the complete picture. And yes, there is nothing on the left side of the sketch...

Birthdays bring great memories from the past and wonderful dreams about the future. This time, I had a week full of surprises for my B'day and it was the best B'day surprises ever! :)

You know the best and the worst thing about B'days? On your B'day, From 12am to 11.59pm, it's the most special and happiest day of your life. But right after 12am, you just realize that, you need to wait for another one looonnngg year, to get that special day again(Uhh, such a bummer!).

Flame n Flower

I've always thought that Orange n Yellow are two flashy-flashy (2 'flashy' cuz they're that flashy :-P) colors. But turns out it isn't that bad. Orange n Yellow, they actually dispel the gloominess! Try it out :)

A loss forever!

In memory of one of my best friend whom  I lost recently in an accident.

RIP..

Go Chennai Super Kings!

Today 27th May 2012, the talk of the day is IPL Finals- Chennai Super Kings Vs Kolkata Knight Riders.

Will the defending champions (CSK) win this IPL for the third time?
We've gotta wait till 11.30pm to know that!

Two weeks back we never expected CSK to be in the playoffs. But thanks to Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab, who benevolently lost the match they played, and cleared the path for CSK. A special thanks to Deccan Chargers who got fully charged to win their last two games!

Getting into the playoffs was one task, but winning consecutive games is another hassle! To get into the finals, CSK had to win  2 consecutive games and yes, they did that!!

The first game with Mumbai Indians: thanks to Dhoni who finally stood up to take away the match from the hands of Mumbai.

The second game against the Delhi Daredevils, was a full throttle and a very memorable one, as I saw the match live at M.A.Chidambaram stadium! I went with two of my friends: a girl who got real crazy and wanted to dance for every single ball that was hit and a guy who was patient enough to deal with all the craziness that was happening around. At the end of the day, CSK reserved their spot in the finals without much trouble (Thanks to Mr.Monk who scored a century!) :)

So, today is a big match! Lets keep our fingers crossed..

P.S: I had CSK in my mind and sketched the above lion. Let the lion roar again!

Xpectations!!

Expectation is a word that carries so much of a lot of things like, curiosity, anticipation, anxiety, happyness, burden, fear, shiver and what not?!! Whenever I get my hopes high on something and expect that to happen, I say to myself that it is not healthy to expect so much. But lemme face it, I was never able to control my expectation.

I asked to myself, "Is it so wrong to expect something?". Well, I didn't get an answer till now.

When our expectations are fulfilled, the amount of happyness you get is unimaginable. You feel like you're the happiest person in the world and everything around you looks perfect.

At the same time, when you expect something to happen, and if it doesn't, you get so depressed and gloomy. The whole world seems to be working against you!

Expectations could be huge or really really small & silly. But the impact it has on a person is pretty much the same.

Many would have faced a lot of 'Expectation scenarios' in their life. Lemme just list out a few, that runs on top of my head! They might be petty things, but believe me, they have a strong impact! More importantly, you expect things from someone who is special/unique/important in your life.

#1. Cawwl..!

       1. A call from someone, who said they will call you back in 5 and suddenly you find that your watch is running a race!
       2. They say they will intimate your result over the phone.

#2. A Text

      1. Expecting a reply for a really important question from someone you like the most.
      2. Sending a "Hi, What's up?" message to a person after a really long time and waiting for a reply.
      3. Important questions list for tomorrow's exam. :-P

#3. A gift or a courier or at least a call at 12 on your B'day.

#4. Anticipating a vacation trip with family or a farewell party/get-together with friends.

#5. Exam results, when the internet is so damn slow.

#6. Announcing the winners list.

#7. The moment after you click the 'Submit' button and you wait for the computer to process your request to get your final marks.

And etc etc.. Is it possible to not expect anything? Huh, No way! Why? Well, without expectation, life might be monotonous.

But, is it healthy to expect all the time? Hmm, I dunno. I leave it to you!

Ink pen

The evolution of ink pen started with a quill and an ink pot. (Duh, everybody knows it!)

Later came the gel pen, stick pen, ball point pen, microtip pen etc. Remember the days, when we used to get scoldings from our school teachers for using gel pens/ball point pens instead of ink pens?(At least I did!). I remember one of my tamil teacher who insisted or perhaps constantly scolded us in her screeching voice to use fountain pens till my 10th grade so that we will have a better handwriting in the future. Well, I dunno if it 100% true, but my handwriting did get improved, including the fact that she actually gave strenuous workouts for my hand.

There are few incidents that flashes my mind, when i think 'bout fountain pens. I remember the fight with my dad, when he bought me a normal ink pen, instead of a Hero pen just because the shopkeeper suggested not to go for it(Well, i personally liked that pen, though it works well for hardly a month or so! On the other hand, you get  new pen every month. :-P). I felt that my handwriting got better every time I used that pen.

Once I was in an exam hall and during exams few of us were made to sit on the floor("Only two in a bench!" policy. And, it was the poor guy's(sitting next to me) turn to sit on the floor). Half way through the exam, my brand new ink pen showed its evil face(Apparently, all possible worst things happen only during exams and all at the same time!).  I was frustrated by trying to make it work and as we usually do, I shook the pen like a whip. It didn't work. I did the same(twice) next time with my full energy, only to find that the guy next to me had ink splashes all over his white shirt and on his face!

After a long angry stare he rushed to wash the ink spotted face & shirt. Unfortunately, water scarcity was at its peak, and he could get only droplets of water from the tap, which worsened the situation by spreading the blot. Leaving me with no other choice(with a lot of hesitation), I had to provide him my 1.25 lts of cold mineral water to remove the stain only to some extent(Well, it's just water, not a Rin Ala fabric whitener!). And, of course later that day I got a blast from my teacher for being so careless.

I also remember the day when one of my friend, while troubleshooting a fountain pen, tried using the pen nib like a straw, and ended up with a blue mouth :D. She gave a wide smile(with 32 blue teeth) without noticing the ink all over her mouth and all I did was stare & laugh at her for the whole day!

All possible messy things happen with fountain pens. You find that your ink filler has a huge cut on it(when you have only 5 minutes to leave) and you try to pour the ink directly from the bottle, which eventually gets spilled all over the floor. To prove that you are wise, you use your blue socks to wipe the ink from the floor only to find that your mom has been standing behind and staring at you for a long time!

Nevertheless, I still love ink pens and I recently bought a set of Calligraphy fountain pens. It works great! :)

A Look at the present!

Warning: The paragraphs below are just ramblings.. Don't waste your time on it, unless you're really bored!

Past,Present and Future! Life has all 3. Sometimes, we live today thinking about the past which could be painful or happy. Or, we live today thinking about the future. And, very rarely we live today thinking about the present, with what we've got in our hand.

We always look for something we've lost or something we need! And, in such a search, we ignore the importance of what we have right in front of us.

Okay, I get it! In reality, it is hard to live today without thinking about the past or the future. Well, 'The Homo Sapiens' have both fear(about the past) and anxiety(about the future) in them, which makes it difficult. But still, we can at least give it a try.. (Well, count me in. Even am trying!)

So,

"Live today to your fullest,
With a little from yesterday and tomorrow!" :)

High-5!

It's a 14 minute video and it's really good :) When there are a lot of things happening in your life and you need a wake up call amidst the chaos, watch this video.

After watching this video, I felt like I knew whatever he said about life, but I didn't realize it's importance. Some of the valuables I collected from this video..

#1. In your life, everything happens for reason, let be the worst or let it be the best.
#2. Always love what you do.
#3. Live each day as if it was your last.
#4. Follow your heart.
#5. Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.

P.S: In search of myself!

Merry Christmas & Happpieee New Year 2012 :)

Merry Christmas and A very Happieee New Year 2012(Well, i know its 26days after New year!). This is my 1st sketch for the year 2012. A lot of things happened with the start of this year and it has been a very busy and hectic schedule everyday.

Wish i could get a house in an isolated place just as above and have some time for myself!
